Oils on Linen and Seasacpes
Edward Barton, "America's finest seascape painter", is known for his luminescent oils on linen (seascapes), oils on canvas, and limited editions on canvas.
The technique of Edward Barton seascapes is unusual, to say the very least. A combination of supreme realism with just a touch of surrealism and executed with the ultimate integrity. All of his paintings, seascapes and landscapes, are 100% imagination with no influences other than his mind.
A member of the American Institute of Fine Arts, CA, and listed in "American Artists of Renown", Edward Barton paintings may be found in the galleries, private and corporative collections throughout the world, including Prentice-Hall, Vincent Price, Phillips 66, Max Factor, Louvre Drape, Sargent Industries, Seaworld, CBS.
Barton was born in 1926 in New York. He is entirely self-taught and can not remember a point in time when he did not draw or paint. He has cases of blue ribbons and awards signifying "Best of Show", "Artist of the Year", "Man of the Year". "The Sinking Of Atlantis", a 48x72 canvas, has been exhibited throughout the world.
